In May 2023, Natalie Portman dazzled at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of “May December” in a strapless Dior gown — a replica of the fashion house’s famed Junon gown from 1949. (The original is safely on display at a museum.) Back in 2009, Miley Cyrus topped the best-dressed list in a Zuhair Murad gown inspired by the Junon dress, which was meant to emulate a peacock. Both looks feature an A-line silhouette and a skirt comprised of crystal-embellished petals with an ombre design.
