Legendary and beloved singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett has passed away at the age of 76.

“Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many,” read a statement on his Instagram page.

It was later revealed that the music star passed away following a lengthy battle with Merkel cell skin cancer, a rare and aggressive cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2019.
