K-Pop’s ever increasing popularity shows no signs of slowing down, so it’s no surprise that Hollywood is starting to take notes from it! From previously released films to films in the making, the list keeps on increasing.

In no particular order, here are four Hollywood films that were inspired by K-Pop.

1. Turning Red

First up is the hit Disney Pixar movie Turning Red. Released early this year, viewers may be familiar with 4★TOWN, the popular boy group who is adored by protagonist Mei and thousands of fans from all over the world. Out of the five members, one is a Korean named Taeyoung.

According to director Domee Shi, 4★TOWN was inspired by K-Pop groups BIGBANG and 2PM whom she was a fan of as a student.

Turning Red is a lighthearted yet moving film that’s a must-watch for people of all ages! It also does a great job at showing what fangirling over a boy group really looks like.

2. K-Pop: Demon Hunters

Next, Sony Pictures Animation has a badass film that’s in the works. Tentatively entitled K-Pop: Demon Hunters, it follows the story of a world-renowned K-Pop group whose members are secretly demon hunters on the side.

It’s got action, fashion, food, and of course, music, so there’s a lot to look forward to!
